Question about a custom rack...
Lets say I wanted to make a custom rack.. but only one place for a tub.. do you think that would work? instead of having the hassle of a lid and keeping it locked with clips and what not? Has it ever been done before? I'm planing on doing that and as I get more I build onto it.. I honestly think it would be better but its just an opinion. What do you guys/girls think?

HAHA yeah I know for sure I;m getting more BPs I absolutely love the little guys, I really want to start breeding soon, maybe in 3 years? Who knows.. but yeah I may even go with a 3 tub rack, but it seems like a hassle if I only have 1 sanke for now, I can always do some construction

Re: Question about a custom rack...
My racks are custom made and my tubs fit snug in the racks. They don't have lids and make it easy for feeding and cleaning. All I have to do is slide out the tub and there it is! I use flexwatt on the back of the racks so that the back end of the tubs sit on the flexwatt which is powered by a thermostat. It works great and I've never had any of my snakes escape!

So you don't keep the flexwatt underneath but behind? Like on the back? I don't understand, can you please post a pic?

here's my rack...
http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=50959
do tell you the truth it's not worth it for one snake. i had 4 snakes when i built my rack and i knew i had 5 on there way from the breeder. so for one snake i would stick with the tub. unless you know you will be getting more soon. to heat and whole rack for one tub is kind of pointless. not to mention the costs....

Re: Question about a custom rack...
I was trying to post a pic but am having trouble figuring out how to post one. I put the flexwatt on the shelf in the back so the bottom back of the tub sits on it. Any suggestions on how to post a pic? lol

Re: Question about a custom rack...
I think I just want to make like a 1 tub rack just for now out of some ply wood, I think its the whole lid idea with the tub by itself, I don't want my snake to get out. I still don't understand where this flexwatt goes, i see it on kagez but ill hopefully get things sorted out, new herpstat and flexwatt coming soon

Re: Question about a custom rack...
flexwatt justs gets taped to the bottom of the shelf and the tub sits on top of it. heat rises and will heat the tub.
flexwatt+herpstat+tub=happy snake
