I agree with you a 100% on giving that corn snake a fair chance, and letting your friend have it instead of you not giving it the attention it needs. But getting bit usually comes with ownership of snakes, it may never happen or it might happen tomorrow, you could make a mistake, snake not be in a good mood etc. like I said it could never happen for all I know, I just wanna give you the heads up. But once again good job on giving that corn a nice home.

When it comes to colubrid housing I'm actually not comfortable with most tubs and have always kept our daughter's milksnake in a tank with very good clips. They are escape artists and I just have never felt a tub lid was secure enough for these littler wigglers.

They are escape artists, no doubt about that! But I've kept them in the sterilite containers that have the locking lid with clips from hatchling size w/no escapes. And if using "regular" tubs, ust use those big black office clips to clamp down the sides. But if you didn't do this, then you'd definately have an escape on your hands.

I'm still more comfortable with a nice ten gallon tank with the metal framed mesh lid and four of those strong metal clips to house a small colubrid. Nothing is getting out of there LOL.
