Hey Justin....you play 5-A ball? If so, maybe if both schools make the state finals, we'll see you some Friday night??? (My daughter is in the marching band, so we'll be hitting all the home games for sure, and I'll probably drive to the away games during the finals)

I'm so excited about football season this year! It's been over 20 years since I've done high school football (was in the band myself) and I can't wait!!

We are actual a 4-A school, but this year, or next year we will be a 5-A school, we have big classes...lol. That would be awesome! We are a winning school, so we get t o the playoffs, but don't make it very far, but in the upcomeing school years, we will be the best in our area, behind La Marque! there the school that won the 4-a state champion ship. We lost by 11 points to them....

I play left offensive tackle, and deffensive Nose Guard. I played full back...once...lol.

    Re: 2-a-days started.

Okay Justin dear, I'm honor bound to give you the "mother talk" about sports. *clears my throat and assumes the mother voice".

Be a good sport and lose as well as you win.

Please remember your mother brought you into this world in perfectly good working order so busting yourself up playing a game will make your mother weap into her dishcloth. To this end, please attempt to hide all bruises and only limp when she's not looking. Yelling things like "Wow I almost got killed out there today Mom!!!" are NOT appreciated by the female parent.

Hydrate...hydrate....hydrate...and in case you forget.....hydrate! Fainting or puking will NOT make the cheerleaders want to date you and it will make your mother weap into her dishcloth (or worse yet run on to the field hollering "OMG YOU'VE KILLED MY BABY!" - you of course will never live that down.)

My 13 year old daughter is a cheerleader and no you may NOT date her.

From what I understand in Texas, football is somewhat important (something about God and football but I've missed that connection somewhere)...do your best as folks down there may not get the whole "lose as well as you win" thingy. Apparently winning is rather a big deal (go figure).

Buy some Fabreeze and use it on that stanky football bag. *gag* It's not nice to make momma's mini-van smell like something crawled into the backseat and died a few weeks back!

    Have fun!

    Thanks mom2!

I carry a 3 gallon water jug with me all around the house, eat all the time, drie heaving is a no no in football.

I like to use this from "Facing the Giants"

"Praise God when you win, and when you lose."

My mom just tells me to suck it up...lol.

    LOL you slay me Justin!

I'm the worry wort type sports parent. Apparently mumbling under my breath "I did NOT birth a bird! Why is my daughter a flyer!!!" isn't appreciated on the cheerleading squad.

*makes a note to self...Beth may NOT date football players like Justin until she's at least 16 or I am dead and gone*
