New IRIS CB-70 rack, HELP.
I just ordered the IRIS CB-70 rack from reptile basics along with a Helix thermostat....i asked him to please assemble my heat tape up for me and make all the connections so as far as i know that is taken care of
Aside from figuring out how to work the Helix thermostat, is there any other type of setting up required ??
if any of you have ordered a rack like this whith a helix could you explain a little on how you went about setting everything up ?

Helix is easy. Just run the probe in the hole in the back of the rack, tape it to your heat tape, and use the one button on the thermostat to set the temp to about 94.

Look at step 24 and 25. That is the best way to do it so you wont have to stick the probe inside the tub. Wrap the prob with paper and on the outside wrap it with a peice of the tub plastic. Than tape everything down on one peice of fw. If you dont get it let us know. good luck!

Here is another thread that I wrote up when someone else was asking about probe placement. There may be some other helpful stuff in there for you.

Hope these ideas help,

That looks pretty easy
What if i were to place the probe directly onto the heat tape( as in without the plastic peice and paper towel) ? that would work wouldent it ?
Should i just use regular tape, duct tape, what ?

That would work fine. I have always used 2" clear packing tape, and it has worked fine for me.
