Cleaning enclosure and handling question.

What is the easiest way to clean glass tanks,plants,hides and branches???
Since i got my first bp ive just been taking out everything and then scrubing it with hot water and soap the same thing goes with the other stuff.It seems to work..but is that the best way to do it.How often should i clean it out to.I first started with once a week..and thought that was to soon cuz it was still really clean..so now i do it once every 2 weeks...of course when he poops i take it out as soon as i see it. The branch is the hardest thing to clean!

Now the Handling/some other question. Soo..i got my bp about a month or 2 ago.
Hes doing really well...hes eating and pooping just like he should.
But he stays in his hides all the time...never really comes out at night.
I Handle him twice a week for about 10-20 mins. All he does is stay
very still and never moves..could that be he just doesn't trust me yet
and how will i know when he does. He does poke his lil head out of his hide
somtimes when im in the room..he looks like hes watching me or somthing.
There was somthing i thought was very weird..I was feeding him a couple days ago..i thawed the mouse out and was heating it on top of the screen
and he comes out and acts crazy ..he starts striking the air and watching my movments...is that normal???

Sounds like normal ball python behavior to me...he's hungry!

As for cleaning the branch...if it's causing you headaches, then just take it out. They don't really need to climb around. they're ground dwelling.

Well cleaning the branch isnt that big of a problem..
its just i dont know if im cleaning it right i dont want any bacteria left on it.

I've had my BP for a week and just fed him a fuzzy today.

I held him the yesterday for a good hour or so. He moved around and chilled with me and seemed pretty mellow. Never was in a ball, except when he sleeps. The BP's where I work will stay in a ball usually all the time ( I work at a pet store ) so I doubt hes just gotten used to you yet.

He also was out and about checking out his new cage after I rearranged the day before. I just assumed he was exploring and hungry.

As for cleaning, I've always just used hot water and soap. But I have yet to take down the entire cage to clean it. Probably will change all bedding and everything in 3ish weeks. When he poops/pees I clean the area throughly with hot water and removed the bedding around the area.
