Odd-Eye Rats
I'm curious.. what makes "odd eye" rats?
My first rat I ever had was a odd eye that I got from a pet store back in 2002. I've never seen another one in person since but only online in pictures here and there.
I noticed that one of my breeder rats that I still have has odd eyea. She has one pink eye and one dark ruby eye. My boyfriend actually pointed it out to me. I've never noticed it before and I've had her since she was born. So I felt pretty bad about that since she is one of my more favorable breeder rats that I have. I always just thought her eyes were pink.
I'm still pretty surprised that she's an odd eye rat.
Here she is:

Re: Odd-Eye Rats
I've read thorugh various sites, that "odd-eye" can be a "marker" for megacolon. Based on what I read, it would be the potential offspring effected
I'm not a rat expert, but by googling you can find some interesting reads on it.

Re: Odd-Eye Rats
We have a male like that, but the darker eye is black rather than ruby (unless im just not looking close enough) The way you worded it it sounded like you cant breed her anymore? And if not why?
