    update on bp not eating

    i posted a while back about trouser (1.0 bp) not eating for almost 3 months. i am very happy to announce that he ate a fuzzy rat some time yesterday and has now gone into shed. i am going to see how he does with his normal sized meals when shedding is over. thanks to all who helped me out i appreciate it dearly

    That's great news! I'm not sure what size rats you were feeding before, but it might work better for you to gradually work back up to the regular size, rather than going from a fuzzy straight to a (insert regular size here). There are a couple reasons for this. One - your snake may be intimidated by a much larger meal right away. Two - when a snake goes off feed for an extended period of time, much of the beneficial bacteria that aids in digestion dies off, making digestion more difficult. Smaller meals help to rebuild the bacteria. I would suggest a larger fuzzy rat or a small weanling rat for the next meal.
