    found my jeep!

after searching high and low I found one in manor, texas. The green one I was looking at a few weeks ago didn't have the rear axle I wanted so I passed on it.

Woohoo! Jeeps = best vehicles on earth, period. Welcone to Jeep ownership. My fiancee says that the Danas are "really good." He is obsessed with Jeeps (CJs in particular.) Awesome!

Danas are all that come in the newer Jeeps(most YJ's+ I believe). I'm pretty sure that some YJ may have come with an AMC rear end. I searched high and low for a D44 rear because the 35's are usually the weak point and will only hold up to the stress of a 33" tire.

Yeah, mine has those Danas too
Is this going to be your daily driver, or a fun car? Mine is both. I have found that it is not bad at all on the highway, and it is awesome in making tight turns and backing into tight parking spots.

    Re: found my jeep!

Both! That is why it was so important that I find a Dana 44 rear, with 33's(which was what I was planning on running) there is still a pretty good chance of breaking the D35. With this one, I get built 44's with discs and lockers too!

    Re: found my jeep!

awesome! decided to go leaf-sprung I see....those are usually much cushier and have less suspension breakage than the coil setups anyway ...

you got the axles right....never lock a 35! I have a high pinion front that is locked, but my rear 44 is still in pieces in my garage so my 35 rear is open. I have to carry spare shafts and everything needed to do a field replacement....sucks!
hopefully I can spend the money in the next year or two to finish the 44 build and throw it under the rig

good for you...can't wait to see pics!

    Re: found my jeep!

It has moser shafts in the rear and it comes with the stock ones as well for replacements. I will be looking to Superior for front shafts. They have an awesome warranty and even better customer service.
