Our younger ones like to play tag. You'll ruffle and pet them saying "tag, you're it" and let them run off, then when they come back for rubs and nibbles, we say it again...eventually they learn the game.


I got one of the clear plastic ferret balls w/the rattles inside and let them bat that around. Each of the large adult cages have the toy of wood pieces w/the nut in the middle. The first one lasted all of maybe two days! for the girls, but the boys' is still there...knawed on, but enough to roll around.

Until they get too big, you can let them run around in the little ball on the floor. Some of the fancy rat ppl actually let them just run and play/roam around the room, (with supervision) while the person's sitting on the floor, but I'm not sure I'd want them to have that much freedom....something about piddle puddles all over the carpets!
