grrr temp issues
Ok, so I got my rack and set it up yesterday. I've got my helix thermo attached and maintaining a constant temp, no problem. The problem is, the helix is set at 100 and the temp from the warm side probe is only 84... does this seem right?

The thermostat probe is attached directly to the flexwatt. The thermometer probe is near the back of the tub, directly over where the flexwatt is ran. Room temp is over 80 at the moment. no A/C, and it's 93 outside. I'm going to go check everything out again right now...

Re: grrr temp issues
i'd let it run for several hours, my setup is similiar 82 deg room , set helix to 94 gives me 90-92 in the back of tub.

It was running overnight and all day... I'm wondering if the aluminum tape may have been the cause. I felt the flexwatt and it seemed pretty cool to the touch, versus the aluminum tape, which was warmer. I replaced it with some regular duct tape, so we'll see.

RBI rack, 4 shelf, iris sweaterbox rack. 3" flexwatt, belly heat. BBIAF with a picture.

Re: grrr temp issues
no need for a pic, i've seen those in person. they are built fairly tight. with belly heat it should be fine. i really don't have to set my helix higher than 93-95 at the highest. maybe try a different thermometer, or the thermometer probe isn't direcly above the flex? substrate too deep? you'll get to the bottom of it.

No substrate at this point. probe is taped directly to the bottom of the tub.
I'll put another thermometer in. see what it says...
