New and improved Setup (ver. 2.0!)
Allrighty...
So I got a rheostat today since no one around here carries thermostats. First off, IGNORE THOSE TEMPS!! I had just hooked up the rheostat and put the probes in. Temps now are 88 warm side and 76 cool side

I kept the Flukers thermometer/hygrometer in there to measure humidity- I finally found the fabled Acurite thermometers, but they were out of the kind that measure both. I got two, so now I'm measuring ambient, hot side, and cool side. I put the probes in the hides about 1" from the bottom. BTW, having identical hides does seem to make a difference. Before, I had a rock hide and a coconut hide, but he would pick the rock every time.
Here's a bonus picture of Milton after he got done eating today (he ate [under supervision, of course] while I messed with his setup).

Doesn't he look nicer without being half-shed?
And yes, that's mouse pee!

Oh he's a lovely snake and I love his little orange houses LOL. Nice feeding too, he looks thicker but no big uncomfortable bulge at all. I'd suggest you bump those temps just a tad closer to 90-92 and 80-82. If you find he's at all nervy you might also want to cover the back and sides of the glass tank with a decorative backing (on the outside of the tank of course), just to give him a feeling of more safety.

Shucks.... Milton's blushing!
Do you guys think it's ok for the probes to be attached to the inside of the bowls, or should I put them on the bottom directly? I usually use turf, and the sticky about a glass setup said to put the probe through the turf so it comes out in the hide...

I wouldn't even attach the probes to anything. Just tuck the probe under the side of the hide. It won't bother the snake at all and you can move it for cleaning, etc. They do poop on probes LOL. A baby butt wipe btw is the best way to clean a probe without ruining it. Also if you feed live pull the probes out. I had to learn the hard way and ruined a few Acu-Rites long ago before I figured that one out LOL.

LOL! He's already gotten himself around one of the probe wires... and he just ate, so I didn't want to bother him. He finally left it alone... I was just glad he didn't climb up it!

Almost forgot- I tuned in my temps to 89.8 on the warm side and 81.2 on the cool side.
