Re: Tarantula's- diet question
it depends on "who's the strongest". it's possible for a T to eat a centipede, but it's also possible for a pede to eat a T. it depends who's quicker.it shouldn't hurt either of them if they eat one another.

Re: Tarantula's- diet question
Alright thanks, lol. See, Im VERY afraid of centapeads and a friend of mine said 'Hey, your not afraid of spiders, why dont you get one and have it kill them for you?" And of course I wouldent, but it did make me curious to know if it could happen lol. Thanks.

They are both predators, but one would be prey depending on each ones size and speed and luck. Not a good idea to put them together even if one gets eaten the other could get hurt.

i'd have my money on the centipede eating your tarantula.
here's a youtube movie of a centipede taking out a tarantula.

Def not THAT big, of course.. lol.. only 1 1/2 inches.. I think if it came down to it a 4-5in spider could take it on..

Re: Tarantula's- diet question
That and simular questions have been asked numerous times, although probably not here because this place does not specalize in inverts in any way, shape or form.
There are plenty of people who have feed pedes, scorps and other arachnids to tarantulas and the results have varied.
Something to keep in mind is that the size of the pede doesn't mean squat, the VENOM does. 1.5" or not, a pede can most certainally kill a 5-6" tarantula with one good bite. Also, pedes are a hellva lot faster than tarantulas and have better manouvering capabilities.
Tarantulas are not immune to pede venom or vice versa so, unless you don't mind throwing money away, I'd just relocate the pedes, kill them (cringe) or something else other than feeding them to a tarantula.
Oh, and no, pedes are not a part of a tarantula's list of usual menu items.
