For the mites you need to get PAM (Provent-A-Mite) you can get it here http://entirelypets.stores.yahoo.net/proventamite.html, this is the only efficient product on the market

For the shed just make sure your have the proper humidity level 50%-60% at all time, which can be bumped at 70% during shedding.

You should receive it pretty quick once you receive it, follow the instructions to a T.

Provent-A-Mite treats the enclosure all you will have to do will be to remove the water dish as well as your animal and spray the enclosure, then once dry you will place your BP back in it's enclosure along with is water dish.

By placing her back in her enclosure this will take care of the problem, all the mites found in the enclosure and on her will die.

I just got a can of that. The guy who sold it to me said, To oak her in a bowl with dish soap. Any truth to this?

yeah a bowl of water with a few drops of soap with a few drops of dish just to clarify. Do not use 100% dish soap might have been a typo or whatever but i just wanted to maKE sure.

That's a mildly effective, old school method of drowning a portion adult mites that are present on the animal itself. Mites have some kind of coating on their exoskeleton that causes water to bead around them using surface tension, allowing them to survive under water for short periods of time. The soap in the water breaks the surface tension and drowns the adult mites.

It doesn't kill all the adults, nor does it kill the eggs or larvae. You have to break their lifecycle some way and provent-a-mites does this with maximum efficiency.

The soap-soaking method is really best for heavy infestions or someone trying to buy time until they get a can of Provent-a-mite.
