    Syringe Feeding, Day 3

Well, she is still hanging on. We are going to try feeding a prey item tomorrow. If she won't do it herself, we will assist feed her and see how that goes. She's not regurgitating any of the liquid diet we are giving her and she's seriously fighting the syringe now and tries to get out of having her head held when she knows what's going on. Lol! SO, I'll update tomorrow and let yall know how it goes.

Rock on! Keep it up. Just be gentle if you have to assist feed. (assuming that is what the vet recommended). I find the best way is to put just the head of the prey item in the snakes mouth. Then (this is the key), gently tug back on the prey item and hook it on the snake's rear facing teeth. Then put the snake down. If you do it right, the snake will wrestle around trying to unhook it but most likely will get the hint quickly and will take it down.

Good luck! Assist feeding went very smoothly for me with my tube fed snake, just as Jamie instructed me to do it. I think I only had to do it twice before she started eating on her own.
