photo of the month question
*Please move if this is in the wrong spot; thanks in advance*
I dont want to make anyone angry or anything, but sometimes some of the entries for the bp of the month and herp of the month photos look really bland, or boring. Stuff you see all the time every day. And yet, sometimes, those kinds of photos can win. I dont understand what makes a photo "___ of the month" worthy. Can someone please explain what you all look for? I'm just a bit confused. And like I said, no one take this personal. I cant think of any photos like what I'm talking about off the top of my head but I know I've seen some.

Re: photo of the month question
It's entirely personal choice of the voters. I frequently don't vote for the winner....so my personal choices often don't match the "majority" for that month. Sometimes I vote for a favorite pet...sometimes I vote for the cutest pose....sometimes I vote for an astonishingly crisp photograph....
Just vote for whatever YOU like best....that's all that matters.

Re: photo of the month question
Ok, I understand. I always vote for the artsy ones, well laid out and crystal clear, so I guess thats why I'm confused when those dont win. Someone else liked a different pose better than all that art stuff so the second one won. Thats how the scenario will usually go I guess. -lol- Thanks for responding.

Re: photo of the month question
Everyone's different. Some people will vote for the technically sound photo, others will vote for the cute photo, and others will just vote for the one that catches their eye or has the most appeal to them (for whatever reason that may be).
Remember it's a 'ball python' photo contest, not a 'photo contest' with ball pythons.

Re: photo of the month question
i usually vote for the image which will look best small on the front page. when i see a pic which is too detailed for a small image... i often find another pic to vote for...
that said... sometimes i just go for the cuteness factor!

Re: photo of the month question
Yup, a lot of the ones I like don't win. It's no big deal. Either way we get to look at a bunch of cute pictures. :-)
