    some pics of the tics

well it's been a couple months since I've really posted pics of the reticulated pythons in our collection, so I thought tonight would be a good time...

max - male white headed tiger het amel

medusa - female 50% jampea normal

harli - female 50% jampea normal

    female super tiger

    simon - butan yellowhead

nintendo - silver dwarf super tiger - I know the pictures make him look a little small, but he's already hitting the 6.5 ft. mark and growing steadily. He's actually beginning to turn green, it's amazing to see the color in person...

    emma - lavender albino female

    Cool pics

How big does a dwarf retic get? I believe I saw one that was maybe 7.5' full grown, but what would probably be the average size for it?

Re: some pics of the tics

well the dwarfs that I have are only 50% dwarfs, and not only that, but the dwarf they have in them isn't locale that has the real small dwarfs... so that being said, I won't be surprised at all if the dwarf super tiger passes 12'...

The superdwarfs are the ones that are REALLY small and I believe they range in adult size from 5-7 ft... I'd like to eventually pick up a superdwarf and a genetic stripe (which are also dwarfs)...

Some of the breeders are working on cross-breeding the dwarfs with other "full-size" morphs. So most morph dwarfs are only ~50% dwarf, but as time goes on, they can breed further into the dwarf lines and they should get smaller. My dwarf super for example was created by breeding a 50% jampea tiger x 50% jampea tiger. So he's technically a 50% jampea super tiger, but I think we can all see how much jampea influence he took on...

In fact, Jason Reed was the one that produced all of my 50% jampeas, and this year he hatched out superdwarf tigers, which are a cross between a 50% jampea tiger x superdwarf. Now THOSE will be some tiny tigers...

well they all were on newspaper up until this week, but I thought I'd give aspen a try on those two because we thought they might like it better, and I've been hearing some good things... we'll just see how it works and go from there... have you found your snakes to favor one thing over another?

No, but that would be great if they could communicate to us and let us know which bedding they prefer. I guess the thing that would swing their decision towards newpaper is that they won't have to get bits of aspen in their mouths here and there, anymore.

I know aspen is easy to spot clean, whereas an entire sheet of newspaper would have to be replaced, but then there is still so many pros and cons of each. We may never know what our snakes prefer...lol.
