Yellow belly combos
I keep hearing that the Yellow belly's help amplify many of the morphs when combined with other morphs, and that they have so much potential.
So far, I have not seen the potential spoken of other than making Ivorys.
Does anyone have a picture of their "x morph here" X "yellow belly" or "X het Morph here" X "Het morph yellow belly"?
Im very interested in these guys!
Thanks

Re: Yellow belly combos
Try looking for pics of pastel YB's, fire YB's, and the super stripe YB. There may be more but these are all I can think of off the top of my head.
It is not hard if you do a little research.

Re: Yellow belly combos
Since I seen this thread I thought Id not waste any space and make a new one.
My question is this, What will you get from a mojave x yellow belly? Is the yellow belly a recessive gene and not co-dominant like the mojave so nothing will happen? Youll probaly get mojaves and regular yelllow belly babies if im not correct?

Re: Yellow belly combos
Yellow belly and Mojave are both heterozygous versions of co-dominant mutations. The respective homozygous phenotypes are Ivory and sort of purplish headed leucistic.
I believe The Snake Keeper produced some yellow belly mojave’s but they where not white snakes, tending to indicate that even though the homozygous form of both is a predominantly white snake they are most likely unrelated genes involved (as opposed to some other white snake hets that might be different mutant versions of the same gene).
I believe the odds on an egg from yellow belly X mojave would be 25% chance Mojave yellowbelly, 25% chance just Mojave, 25% chance just yellow belly, 25% chance normal.

Mojave and yellow belly are unrelated co dominate genes. The yellow belly gene does wonders for other mutations
Here is a yellow belly fire.

Re: Yellow belly combos
Thanks guys Im currently getting a pair of mojaves and was thinking what will happen if I would breed a yellow belly to a mojave, what will the outcome because of the gene they carrie to yellowbelly x yellowbelly=Ivory
And mojave x mojave = blue eyed lucy. But thanks fellas I have to look up snake keepers site and see what that purplish head lucy came out to look like.

Wow, now that is a very pretty snake! There is so much contrast between the gold and the brown.
So, what about a pastel/YB?! that would be another co-dom co-dom combination just like the Fire/YB combo right?
