Mine was eating F/T large mice when I got him. Switched him to F/T small rats, no problem. Used a feeding tub, because that's what the previous owner used. Things went fine for several months, then he stopped eating. After a couple weeks of refusals, I put the F/T rat in his cage. Gone the next morning. Ever since, he has never taken the F/T prey from my hand. If I leave it in his cage, it's gone the next day. Today, for the first time, I tried feeding in the morning before work (usually I offer at night). Same deal, wouldn't strike. So I left it in his cage. Got home from work, still there. So I leaned the rat against the opening of his hide. Gone within ten minutes--he dragged it inside and wolfed it where no one could see him.
Odd, I think, but if it works for him, it works for me. From now on, I suppose he gets room service.
BTW, yet another reason to go F/T instead of live, at least in my book.
