    Daytona and kids

So who all is bringing their kids to Daytona? I'll have my 16 yr old daughter and 7 yr old son, which makes childcare a cinch for me

Yeah, I wouldn't dream of it if one of mine weren't old enough to sit. But we're also going to Orlando for a few days after Daytona, so it will be like a full vacation.

Haha, I swore I would vacation somewhere besides Orlando, but we keep ending up there.

I don't know if you have ever been to St. Augustine but that is an awesome get a way vacation. Cool shops too.

But as for kid things to do I didn't see many..Well there is an aligator farm and that was cool. Alot of ghosty things too.

    Re: Daytona and kids

Well, the family wants to go to Island of Adventure and Kennedy Space Center. I'm hoping to squeeze in the Titanic Museum as well.
We've just taken all our major vacations in Orlando (I'm so over Disney!), I'm hoping one year we'll get to go to D.C. or Philly or Seattle, haha.

    Re: Daytona and kids

there are quite a few things in Orlando you can appreciate, besides Disney

You should definitely try to fit in the Orlando Science Center.

There's also Harry P Leu Gardens (1920 N. Forest Avenue, Orlando, Florida 32803; Tel. 407.246.2620) I have some recent pictures if you're interested...PM me

Also, on I-Drive...right down the road from Ripley's (which is pretty cool) and the Titanic museum, there's a place called Skyventure Orlando, which is simulated Skydiving. You get put in this wind tunnel and fly around as if you're falling to the earth...soooo much fun! If your daughter is a thrill seeker then she'll surely appreciate that...much better than any Disney "thrill ride"

Cool, thanks for that info, Nate! I'll look into those. That simulated skydiving sure sounds fun
