Re: UV lighting
Natural daylight is enough for snakes. Other reptiles need the UVA/B lights, but snakes are good with just natural lighting from the rooms they're in. Just try to keep the time of "day" and "night" at least 12/12.
Now that it's summer, like other ppl's mine are getting longer days and that's really not a biggee for the boas. It may upset the balls a bit (since they're equatorial daylight amounts don't fluctuate as much) but the room they're in has a western facing window only and I've got the blinds closed, so it's still a little darker.
