Two-headed snake dies in St. Lois

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070620/...WQ410ZVNQuQE4F

I thought that was interesting; I'd never heard of many two-headed animals living for very long. Has anyone here ever produced/seen/owned a two headed snake, and if so, what species, and how long did it live? What're your reactions to this? Just thought it was interesting and wanted to see what kind of convo would result.

Wow.. that is interesting, that it lived that long. I would have jumped on the bandwagon if I were in that area and wanted to see it, I admit I am the same person that paid $5 to see the "World's Tiniest Horse" at the fair last year and it was just a Mini horse that I could have seen at the farm up the road though. People love curiousities!

Haha! Nice on the miniature horse thing...XD they probably fool a lot of people with it, too!

That's so sad. It's not the same seeing it stuffed, but at least it will still be on display.

I wonder how they fed it? Like if both heads could eat, or if just one would get the food....how it would strike, etc? There are alot of questions that pop into my head seeing that. It's neat that it lived that long. Apperently it was healthy enough ^_^

8 years, that's pretty crazy. It tried to slither in two different directions at the same time, that prolly sucked.

I'm somewhat surprised this zoo openly admits that they tried to breed it with other two-headed snakes. All personal opinions aside, reproducing a genetic "defect" is not something I would think of a zoo doing. Interesting though...

Bummer, what a cool snake. I'd think they'd want to study it internally to understand more about the motor functions for longer than a week, but that's just me.

As immoral as it is to some people, we would not get very far in bio-science if we did not explore every possible avenue to understanding genetics (be it a flaw or not).

It is cool that is lived that long...however I think the weird part is that it had male and female genitalia.
