Exactly.
What sucks is that this case has the potential to set a MAJOR precedent in the legal system. What would stop someone for being prosecuted for the next "cute" animal feeding - rabbits for example? People have been arrested for animal cruelty when they neglect rabbits and other small mammals...

It was brought up about them feeding on dogs in the wild....I simply answered. Nothing meant by it, just my opinion.....

First of all we aren't talking about an animal in the wild and nobody here has disputed that they think it is cruel "in the wild" however....In these here United States they don't "normally" eat wild dogs.
And furthermore...this was not a wild dog that even had a chance in hell of getting away from the snake it was a helpless puppy that had a stupid owner!
just sayin'

and i kinda agree here too, because i have to say, if i found that guy in a dark alley, he'd likely not walk away, because he's an idiot on both the puppy feeding, and the treatment of the snake. but i'm not quite sure what he's getting 90 days for?

That is a really hard question... In my mind, it's simple to answer, but that doesn't translate well into legal issues now does it. Different countries have different generalized feelings about the animals that they revere and those they have less use for... but if you spell it out in black and white, it would really suck to have to say 'I don't give a crap about that rabbit but dogs are ok by me.' Can of worms...

So your going to kill/hurt him for feeding a puppy to a snake but you don't understand why he is getting jail time? I don't get it.

Because it's socially unacceptable, however to label feeding off a puppy as any more cruel than feeding off a bunny is ridiculous. I think thats his point. Same as mine.

i was more sayin, if i was there i woulda done something about it because i don't condone feeding a puppy to anything, but im not really sure how exactly the law factors into this, it just doesn't make sense. I didn't really finish that thought, because i was thinking of my puppy and i meant to put that in there and i'm rather attached to my animals, so if someone was feeding him... anyway, i just don't understand what exactly he's in jail for.
