Any Soprano watchers out there.....
And if so what are your thoughts on the final ending??
All I can say is I think most fans didn't think it would end like that

Wow the ending was crazy. It had suspense all over it. They made you feel through the whole thing that someones going down. First I thought the son was gonna die, then tonys daughter, then tony when the guy got up to go to the restroom from the diner table. I was shocked I thought the cable went out when it just ended like that. I was like NOOO!!!!..lol it was great. Im a first time watcher and for the first time watching the sopranos I seen the last episode.

Brilliant piece of work by Chase if you ask me. Everyone expected some kind of a "Scarface" type bloodbath in the end or a flip out to get NY in trouble with the feds...both would have been a disastrous ending imo.
However, the blank screen in the end leaves one wondering....

Re: Any Soprano watchers out there.....
Here is a interesting take on the end ( from another board )
"Tony got popped.
That's actually exactly how I thought it would end if he died. It's more or less a first-person perspective, the show revolves around him, so I kind of envisioned that if he did get killed, the show would just be over.
It recalls the brief flashback from last week's episode, when he's talking to Bobby on the lake (paraphrasing): When it happens, you don't see it coming. Everything just goes black."
Awesome ending."
I have to go w/ you Raj...it leaves you wondering.

I wonder if they left it open for a movie...Silvio is not dead, Tony has an impending inditement, Who takes over NY? so many questions to just end in black....I think if he was killed, you would have heard a gun shot over black or saw the guy come out of the bathroom towards him....

Haha, funny you should bring that up. That was another take on how things ended according to some. However, the song that was playing in the end contradicts the scenario.

Yes " Don't stop believing" did you notice when he picked it on the jukebox the flip side was "Anyway you want it"
Here is a good take on it, after all it was titled " Made in America "
"..... This episode touched on significant stereotypes throught the entire episode.....The arabs at the beginning, the terrorists in afghanistan....and meadow discussing the stereotypical view of italian americans....the exact reason she wants to get into law. - Why is it we see an italian gentleman enter a restaurant and immediately we tie him to whacking tony, or the mob??? why cant he just be a normal italian american getting some food??? or why is it we belive the black males r going to rob the place??? we were meant to focus on these characters, and chase wanted us to believe wut we did..... people need to realize that these were just regular individuals and we should not be stereotypical....As for the screen going black - i woulda much rathered a fade out of all of them eating together....but the guy in the bathroom does not whack tony - via godfather style, its too Cliche for Chase and the overall genious of the show, they wouldnt rip off n idea like that. people need to jus accept the fact Phil is dead, there is a truce and life has moved on, the family is together and this is how it ends....."

Re: Any Soprano watchers out there.....
Yup, getting arrested by the badly dressed "undercover agent" type or saying "bye-bye" after "meeting" the two gangsters(which is ironically something Tony himself has done in the past to fix his problems) or even something bad happening to Meadow would have been too cliched of an ending; I don't think Chase would have done that to the fans.
I think he left it for us to decide which of these could have transpired or if anything happened at all for that matter. How does one end television history? Don't give it one...
