    Exclamation Please Help!! Lost Snake!

Ok, I have a two week old baby ball named Jack. Ive had him for only just over a week and am already very attached.. So I woke up this morning and looked in on him to see how he was doing, and he was coiled up by his water bowl, relaxing. So I checked out the doors (their sliding doors and Im always paranoid, b/c I dont have a lock for his cage yet) and they were tightly closed. So about an hour ago I went in the get him- and he was GONE. The age doors still tightly closed, andthere is NO other possible way for him to get out. Everything is seald. And the doors were still completely closed. No one has gone into that room at all, so its impossible for anyone to have let him out, theres no cracks in the glass or rips in the top either... And I highly doubt he has the strengh- or that its possible at all- for him to open it to get out AND close it before taking off... What should I do?!?! PLEASE help!!

check the cage really really closely. you could have just missed him. well depending on what kind of setup you have. if you have substrate in the bottom-its possible you just didnt seem him or hes just well hidden as for the door being closed-i can't help you there-i'd just check the cage really well. but be careful. dont want to hurt him!

I did- I took everything out and cecked the substrate and everything- he just dissapeared it seems.. And Im really stressing about it cause Im worried that I wont find him in time- my other snake I had only lost once, I had been cleaning her cage and put her in a box and didnt realize that there was a little hole.. But I found her quickly. And What really worries me is hes only ever ate two little fuzzies- he wont last too long w/o food.... I just got a little hopper mouse and have it in a cage sitting on the floor right now, in a dark area while Im looking in other places, but I dont think he completely recognizes the smell of a mouse yet and is a littleconfised about them still... I just dont know what to do- and am so confused on how in the world he could have gotten out...

And also, just a greneral layout arounf the cage- its up on a 5 ft. high dresser, next to a dryer (and washer) and on the other side, a couple feet down, a night-stand- thn my bed, and theres lots of hampers & laundry baskets, a couch, stairs- so I just need to know some ways to maybe lure him some where...

I would really search under the washer and dryer. When my girl got out she wasn't even in the same room as the washer and dryer, but 3 weeks later my mom found her, coming out from under the dryer and towards the hot water heater. I had searched like crazy under those two, so I'm guessing she found them later, but they like the heat from both of them. Good luck with him!

Did you check under the water bowl? I thought my guy got out but I knew there was no way. I started tearing through everything and he was coiled really tightly and was under the waterbowl flattened and had pushed all the substrate away. Other than that I would say search the forum for other good ideas because there seem to be a lot of missing snake threads. Good luck!

    Re: Please Help!! Lost Snake!

I'm glad you found him! Sometimes people get lucky and usually find them within 15' of their enclosure for the first couple of hours, and it's usually in the place they think would be too small for them to fit into. They certainly are tricky little guys, and can squeaze into any small place!
