Patrick and Jay sell them, from Prehistoric Pets. They're California sales only, but you might be able to talk to them and see if they'll do the paperwork and go through CITES and such to ship them to you. Doesn't hurt to ask

    Re: Indian Pythons for sale???

Actually CITES paperwork is only required for international trade. I don't know where Snakedoc is from, but if he/she is in the U.S. no CITES paperwork is needed. However, I beleive that Indian Pythons are considered an endangered species and require another type of paperwork. I can't remember off hand what it is though.

Indian Pythons, Southern African Rock Pythons, and other CITES Appendix I animals require the paperwork to ship from state to state....

Sorry Andrew, I think you're wrong. CITIES is the Convention on International trade of endangered species. It has no bearing on the crossing of state lines within the same country.

So then going through them was something I shouldn't have done when I had my Indians shipped to me....

Don't take my word for it. Read it for yourself.

I didn't see California listed as one of the member countries.

    Re: Indian Pythons for sale???

If they are wild caught animals that are CITES appendix I listed they do need CITES paperwork to prove that they were obtained legally and brought into the country legally...

But once they are in the states I believe the original CITES paperwork just needs to be sent with them (again to prove they were obtained legally)....not new CITES papers for everytime they exchange hands over state lines.

    Re: Indian Pythons for sale???

I can understand something like this for the original imports showing that they were legally brought into the county, but what about the captive bred and born offspring of the original imports? I can see where it might be a nice customer service gesture, sending some photocopies of the original paperwork showing the history of the animals, but I can't see where it would be considered a legal requirement, unless you were planning on re-exporting them.

I recall that indian pythons need some sort of additional paperwork from the federal government, but i don't remember what it is.
