Yeah, try a slightly higher wattage bulb.. just be careful, with bulbs, it's really hard to keep the humidity in a good range. They tend to suck the humidity right out. Make sure it's a red bulb or a CHE (ceramic heat emitter) since you can't keep a white light on 24/7 without stressing your python.. and they need the temps to stay warm at night too.
An alternative to bulbs is an under tank heater that is wired to a thermostat.
