pastel het orange ghost x het orange ghost

Last weekend i purchased this pair fro Corey Woods up here in Canada. I really cant wait to see if they are both ready by by next fall of 08. The Male actually may be ready this coming fall. I had originally planned to breed my het albino male to one of my normal females, but i am now considering breeding the pastel het OG male to my normal girl. What should i do.

    1.0 normal bp
    1.0 het albino bp
    1.0 pastel het orange ghost
    0.1 het orange ghost
    0.3 normal bp's

Congrats on those two, they are good looking. I don't know what you have in the way of females, but it might be a good idea to breed your Het Albino male to your normal so that you will have more Albino project animals. If you have more than one normal female, then give each male his own girl (p.s. this would be the way I'd try to do it).

    Congrats,

Re: pastel het orange ghost x het orange ghost

I would still go with the Het. Albino male to Normal. I don't know if you are trying to make a dollar or two or strictly in it for the fun, but I would go for the Albino project animals. I see that you have a Pastel female as well. I know she might not be ready, but I would put that Pastel male to her and get some Supers Poss. Het. Hypo, and put hinm to the Het. female and get Pastel Hypos. Both of those breedings will also give you Pastel Poss. Het Hypos, which would be what you would get from the Pastel male bred to the Normal female. It all boils down to how fast you want to get to which goal. I hate not having enough females. Every year I think I have enough, and every breeding season, I complain that I am short. Either way, have fun breeding and have fun hatching, and it all brings a smile at the end of the day.

Re: pastel het orange ghost x het orange ghost

Tim, thanks for the help. Yes my pastel female will be ready or should be ready buy next fall not this one. i am not in it for the money at all...i certianly dont mind waitting for the albino project. I realize that if i am lucky enough to get some poss het alb females after breeding the het alb male to my normal female, it will be some time before i get an albino. Thats kind of why i am leaning towards breeding the pastel het OG male to the normal. i can always buy a het albino female next yr...who knows, maybe trade a few pastel poss OG's for one if i am lucky this year and get a few pastel's in my clutch.

Like u said, at the end of the day i will have a smile on my face...this fall will be my first attempt at breeding, so even if i only hatch out 1 or 2 normal's i'll be very happy. anything else will just be a bonus.

Let me know if you end up with any Pastel Poss Het OG's, as I might be willing to trade you a Het Albino female for one. Good luck with your projects.
