    Lightbulb Humidity help

Ok to keep my humidity between 50-60% i have to spray my tank atleast 5 times a day and i simply cannot be around to spray every couple hours to regulate. At the moment I am using aspen chips which have been in there about 2 weeks. Prior to that i was using jungle earth and after about a week and half that was the same way. So i guess my question is, is there like an automatic mister that i can place on top of my tank that could be hooked up to my hygrometer to mist when it drops below 50%? And if so how much will it cost and where can i find one? If there is something similar to regulate heat that would be nice too, but that has been less of a problem.

Edit: To answer any questions regarding helping trap humidity and heat. I was using some school binders on top to trap it, and recently I have place a towel over the tank, because i read on here that it would make my ball feel more secure since he is in my room.

    Hi,

Have you considered trying to set up the tank lid the way it is shown in the Glass tank setup sticky?

I have considered it yes, but no I have not actually done it. I have read through that sticky a few times for pointers.

are you using a heat lamp.... cause that will kill the humidity. i would use only under tank heaters. also try a bigger water bowl and moving it more on the warm side.

as for the mister they do have them, one called an ultra sonic fogger i think it's made by zoomed. but i heard they are a pain cause you have to keep filling them with water every couple of hours.

i made a homemade humidifier and it has kept humidity up to about 50% and up at all times. they is a DIY for it in the caresheets section of the forum. i would say thats your best hassel-free bet.

I am using a heat lamp but it is required to keep the temperature high enough. I will try moving the water bowl maybe to the center closer to the heating pad and see if that helps. I actually have a humidifier already but my problem has been keeping humidity up i dont need to suck anymore humidity from that room.
But i guess the auto mister isnt a good idea because i would still have to be refilling that a few times a day still and wouldnt be any different..that sucks.

    Re: Humidity help

My opinion, tape of 3/4's of the top like metioned above, and watch the misting go to twice a day or less.

I find that amazing since Florida is always so humid, figured you guys would have no trouble at all keeping humidity up. I was just down there for vacation and the humidity was killer.

ya i might be up late trying to do that because i have to go to ocala for business tomorow not gona be home to monitor the situation. The Jungle earth was really humid at first which before i got my BP i was worried was going to be too humid because it was around 70% and i had my lamp on it tryin to dry it and the humidifier goin then it dried out after bout a week and wasnt much good at holdin humidity.

a humidifier won't suck humidity out it will add more. here is a like to what i made and it keeps my humidity consistant 90% of the time. (i also have most of my screen top covered)

this is for the humidifier, i will try and get a picture of what i did but basicly i poked a hole in the corner of the screen top lid and put some tubing through it, so it's like a little hose spraying humidity (not water) into the tank. hope this helps ya.

I'd like to have one for when I go on vacation and can't get anyone to watch my ball for me.
