not handling for week?

i learned that when you get a bp you should give him a week and not touch him, tyr to feed, or anything. is this the same for corn snakes? i just got my guy and i have him in a temp tub till i get a tank (the one i had set up i had to use for some adopted gerbils). so is it ok to handle him?

When I got mine, I waited 5 days. I don't really know if it's necessary or not, though.

corns don't usually stress as easily as balls, but yes you should wait before you do anything to it. It's never a bad idea to let anything settle in and get comfortable.

Well it ends up being about 5-7 days anyway.
You want to try and let the corn settle in as long as you can, 3 days is good BUT when you do take them out the first thing you should do is try to feed them, which means no handling them for another 2-3 days anyways.

We didn't wait that long with Toby, but what we did do was bring him home, coo over, him take some pictures, and put him in his tank. Normal feeding day was 4 days after that so he was taken out, put in a feeding bin, fed, cooed over, had another photo shoot (no handling with this one) and put back in his tank. We gave him time to digest, and then handling started.

We are going to do the same thing with the new little guy.

I don't like to handle anything until it is on a good feeding schedule. After two or three feedings, I would begin handling.

Any corn i've ever had has pigged out anyways, i've never had a corn refuse a feeding.

But yea, as a general rule give him/her a few days to settle in. Handling it PROBABLY wont affect it before the first feeding, but you never know...
