    Exclamation Animal Plastics Inquiries: Locking

Wow. It's been a while since I've been back. Lack of internet does that to you. ^_^ I recently moved in with two really...good friends of mine. The problem is this: The room I'm moving into is a little smaller than the one I had before, therefore I needed to purchase some sort of rack system to cut down on space. I'll be replacing my 40 gallons with the 1960 3-Tub rack. Woot! I'll also be purchasing a Herpstat. Simple enough, right?

My problem: My roommate, however wonderful she is, is extremely afraid of snakes. (Don't ask me how we moved into together). She wants me to find a way to securely lock the rack so that the "snakes don't try and bite me." Her words. Not mine. Do any of ya'll have any suggestions for me? Or am I stuck paying high dollar amounts for a rack system I won't fill for years?

you could always stack front opening cages since they lock. or many times a rack can be locked with a bar down the front.

What about attaching a mesh door to the front of it?

Why don't you contact Mark at Animal Plastics & see what his suggestions are? Betcha he's had customers ask for some sort of locking racks in the past. They've always been great about customizations I've asked for, and I bet they'd be able to come up with some sort of locking mechanism that would work well for a rack.

    Good luck!
