There is no reason to feed him in a seperate container. To your point, it can cause more stress and harm. Ball's are ambush predators so they like to stay in their hide (their cage) and wait for the prey to walk by and then grab them.


I would just plan to feed them in his cage...the only change might be to remove the hide he isn't using at the time so the mouse/rat doesn't make use of it.
