Is it an Argentine?

Not knowing too much about different types and localities I was curious if this is a true Argentine Boa. Our local feed store wanted to try selling reptiles and got this in; however, they have now decided to stop selling and they are offering this Boa for $100. Any ideas?

Some info regarding this species seems a little contradicting, can anyone add a little more insight as far as size as an adult and housing?

I can't seem to pull up Rio Bravo's website either.

That's an Argentine, but not the best one I've ever seen. They are a locale specific species called BCO (boa constrictor occidentalis). In my opinion they are a intermediate level of boas. They are very skittish and tame rather hard, which is probably due to the level of captive generations being considerabley low. Most argentines are only a generation or two captives. They are a larger boa species, reaching 8 feet easily and are known to reach 10 feet more often than a Colombian would. Awesome snakes though, once tamed. Here is a pic of mine showing her true colors and attitude, which is pretty well known for.





But, she can be a total sweet heart at times too!

It looked "muddy" to me. I wouldn't say it was pretty to look at but it was different. Too big for me though. I was more curious than anything.

yeah thats an argie , not the best one ive seen , but its a argie
i love BCO's used to have a pair docile as lambs after a lot of work and bites lol my biggest female was over 9ft and the male was a little over 8ft , had to sell them when i went travelling
i miss those guys
