I'd agree that you should leave them until they have shed and fed a few times. That way you can also get the information on exactly what they are eating (rats or mice) and in using which method (live, f/t or p/k). When they come home you can duplicate this, after their settling in period, and up your chances for successful feeds right out of the gate.
