Happy Mothers day to me.. wait, thats not right

I went into my snake room on mothers day and was checkng to see if I had any suprises and sure enough, 4 shiny new potatoes sat there looking at me.. with a very protective mother.

She is a 66% het albino ( first year breeding) and he was a 100%het albino 50% het pied.. so lets pray they proove out.

All 4 eggs had nice bright vessels in them when candled. Not to bad for her first year i guess.

keep your fingers crossed for me guys i get at least one albino, ut the odds are stacked against me for sure.

Also, one egg has a boob on it.. is that anything to worry about?

(oh yeah, these pics were taken with my new digital canon EOS 30D right out of the box... amazing camera for sure)

Congratulations!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for some albinos. Oh, and don't worry about the boob... it'll be fine.

Sevo, when I get home today, I'll take a pic of a half boob egg that is on day 50. It looks horrible, but has a live baby in it. So as long as the egg is fertile (candled with veins), I'd say it is fine. Boob eggs ussually will produce smaller offspring. And, congrats, and I hope you get all Albinos.

Re: Happy Mothers day to me.. wait, thats not right

Chris, here is the pic I promised you. As I stated, these eggs are on day 50. This egg candled good when it was laid, and is about 50/50 boob and good egg. The whole egg weighed about 65 grams. the good part is slightly smaller than a golf ball. I candled these eggs on day 40, and there is a living snake in that egg. Mind you, it will probably hatch at about 25 grams. I will take pics in about a week after it hatches. Hope that helps. In short boob eggs can do fine. Especially one as minor as yours. Hopefully there is an Albino in your boob.

edited because I forgot to put pic.

lol, me too, how cool would that be.

    Tim,
thank you for taking the time to post that picture.. it helps to see that for sure. Please keep us posted on your boob egg for sure, I am interested to see how small it will be. what are the parents?

I like your substrate as well as I mix mine with perlit as well. I may need to tone my water down a bit. It looks as though you use course vermic? if you are where are you getting it. I can only find fine...

How much dimpling should ther be as ther is none in my first batch which is 14 days old.

Thank you again for your help
