Need to figure out an inexpensive Boa enclosure
Well today i was moving the 125 gallon tank i had for my columbian boa (about 5 feet long) and dumped it over. It now needs to be vaccumed out of the carpet. Now the big problem is i have a big snake with no home and maybe $60 to spend. What could i possibley devise for him for that price. I have no idea, i sat on this one for 5 hours now and still no clue. Hopefully some one else does. Also i live in north florida if anyone has one for sale.

An under-bed tub made by stearlite or rubbermaid (mine is stearlite, has two wheels), some binder clips or bungee cords, dog bowl, flexwatt, thermostat and acurite thermometer combo should be close to, if not under your $60, and is fast to put together.

here's an example.
My adult female RTB Hera is in one now.

Re: Need to figure out an inexpensive Boa enclosure
Here's is one you could order online that's within your budget and is huge!
http://www.reptiletubs.com/ (click on the Tubs, then VE Series, you want to check out the VE175)
You can also phone any Walmarts in your area. Ask if they have any Iris brand plastic Xmas tree storage boxes left in the store. Basically the same thing as the above link, retail for around $29.00 but tend to be only available seasonally from WalMart.
As with any plastic tub and a strong snake, you'll need straps or something to keep him from escaping.

I doubt that very seriously, plus, its going to be a temp. home correct? I'd look at Target, There are tubs that are about 42" by 24" that will work for a boa up to about the 6' range. I'd get ready to order a boaphile cage from www.boaphileplastics.com . They are 209 shipped for the 4' by 2' model and are awesome cages!!!

Too many boas to list and a few balls as well

Re: Need to figure out an inexpensive Boa enclosure
yeah hes not 7'' think but half or more and to me that dosent seem like much room. And yes its temporary but im hopeing it will get me throuhg the month at least. For now hes got full roam of my walk in closet with my electric blanket on the floor. But i cant keep that up for long my wife hates it. she wants me to get rid of it but i told her she would be out the door long before the snake. I for the most part like my wife so i gotta do something. hhmmmm..

Re: Need to figure out an inexpensive Boa enclosure
I have a 7.5ft female boa who weighs 20+ lbs in one of those VE175 tubs. She does just fine and has plenty of room to stretch out.

Hera is 18.5# and only when she's coiled around the rat, does she touch the lid of the tub....and then not enough to lift it up or move the bungee cords very much at all. I've got her in one of the Stearlites that I posted the link to, and she's doing very well in it.
