My boy's first shed!!
I picked him up today and his skin color looked kind of foggy and his eyes are almost white. So I figured its shedding time. What should the temps be at I keep my cool side anywhere from 80 to 83 and my humidity is arond 55 to 60 anything I need to adjust. And if so whats a good way of doing it Thanks.

Re: My boy's first shed!!
I just read in the above shedding article not to feed but for how long. And what should the humidity be at?

Re: My boy's first shed!!
During shed humidity should be btwn 60-70% I believe. And as for feeding its just common that most snakes won't eat during their shed, however some due. Its also common for them to stop eating a few days to a few weeks before a shed. I know when I first got my lil buddy he didn't eat and about two weeks later I had a nicely shed boy. And its not suggested that you handle him if he indeed is shedding (starting once you see his eyes start to cloud up) as they get easily stressed due to their reduced vision.

Re: My boy's first shed!!
Yea I havent handled him after I saw the eyes, the day when I picked him up I found out that the shed is starting. Soo far the humidity has been low 60's Ive tried to bump it up by adding more water to the bowl but its only doing soo much. I will have a new tank for him soon if the guy hasnt sold it yet, and then I will be able to control the humidty a little better. So far he has spent most of his time in the cold side and out side. I havent seen him on the warm side at all. Esacially this past week he has only been spending time on the cold side. Not sure whats up with him
