Being an Oregon resident and Oregon State having their own vet school, it made sense at the time. I WAS offered and guaranteed a full scholarship to Ohio State, but I had to agree to study and specialize in porcine medicine. I wanted to do large and small animals, so I turned the prof.'s offer down.
