I was older, but I've DONE THAT. I wanted a piece of cheese so used the butcher knife to cut a piece off of the longhorn (a huuuuuuuge round of cheddar...about 5# new). It skipped off the top and cut a vein in my finger.
I TOTALLY understand!!! 
Now that you know she's energetic and imaginative enough to work it out and to solve problems like that, you can take steps to prevent it happening again.
Sooooooooo glad to hear tho' that the finger's healed up well w/o any complications. Accidents happen. But now you can take preventative steps.
The bad parent is one who lets things like that happen over and over and not do anything about it.
