    First Time Shed

Ok. so Brian arrives on the thursday and 8days later I try to feed him. No luck. Yesterday I lifted him to check on him and I see his eyes are blue - I guess this is a shed on the way.

Question shall I try him with more food and when?

    Thanks

    Chris

Sorry I'm not more polite - My dinner is on stove!

Some here feed during a shed... mine both refuse when shedding... it is up to you... personally I feed mine after they shed so I don't waste a meal...I'm sure someone with more experience will be along shortly though

I don't because my little guy has trouble seeing when he goes into blue.

I fed my male when he was in blue, he still ate, he missed his first strike, but got it the second one. I just got lucky and am blessed to have a non-picky BP. He will eat anything that is placed in his cage. Only hope my new girl is this easy.

    Re: First Time Shed

I have some that will feed when blue and others that don't. You can always offer it to him to see if he wants it. If not, then you'll know. It won't hurt him to go without a meal, either, so you can wait until he sheds if you prefer.

    your choice!

    Re: First Time Shed

We offer a rodent on feeding night to every snake. If they are in blue and don't eat it's no biggie, some do, some don't, some will one shed cycle but not the next. Usually by the next week if somebody in shed refused they are more than ready then.
