It's your snake so in the end it's your decision but for me there's a big difference between taking one of our snakes outside on a warm day to just sit quietly with it on our own porch compared to walking around with it through our neighbourhood. It's a snake, not a puppy so to my mind it will never understand why you are hauling it around, won't get much out of the experience and may react poorly to it in a number of ways.

Should it hiss, strike out or bite someone you'll end up dealing with that and I expect it won't be a fun thing. Don't get me wrong, I love educating the general public about snakes but I don't like putting our snakes in a uncontrolled situation where things might go badly for all concerned.
