Re: Poets Here? Show your stuff

I wrote poetry ages ago. Most of it was dumb, but there were a few I was proud of. No idea where they all are right now, as we've moved so many times. This one though, is the only one I ever memorized and is probably my favorite as well...so I can share it.

    It doesn't have a title.

    ~*~

    Concentrated masses of power ahead,
Underneath them a feeling of fear and of dread.
Masters of all the sky and the weather,
Under no bound of harness or tether.
Lo! And behold the mightiest thunder!
Over the ground they pillage and plunder.
Never relenting to sun or to moon,
Incasing the world in their silver cacoon.
Moving ahead over the earth and the sea,
Billowing up into that which they be,
Unleashing the power held deep inside
Sending forth torrents...and no one can hide.

    ~*~

Very good! I have a few around that I'll have to find... I read one the other day called "To the Little Polish Boy Standing With His Arms Up" that was very good but very, very sad. I just loved the word repetition that gradually gained momentum. The ending is very touchingly sad. I love the way the lines are arranged, some words are alone, which IMO adds impact. Here's a link.
