    Maybe momma mouse got too busy chewing up afterbirths and nailed it's tail. We have a breeder female rat here, Stubby, that's tailess (not genetic, occurred at or right after her birth). She moves her stub tail around just like a regular tailed rat would.

    Ah so it is.. I don't know if there are manx mice.. but I do know that mice parents seem more apt to nibble on their babies than rats.

    oh now isn't that just the cutest little thing! glad it's not in my house or we'd have another pet. i can just see my daughter... max the blind rat on one shoulder and stubbless the tailless mouse on the other

    LOL Aleesha! This one will definitely be staying with us, everyone here just fell in love with it.

    Ok, got new batteries today, so here are some better pictures, including one of it's little nub.
