    The downside to keeping snakes...

...is that their food can be kinda cute sometimes. I was cleaning cages today and caught Dad looking after the pups while mom put together a new nest on the other end of the tank...

Just thought I'd throw that up. I think that rats don't get the credit they deserve, considering that without them, we wouldn't be able to have our snakes. Treat your rats well and that carries on up the food chain...

Although i dont feed mice, i could adjust to it.
Plenty of other food items we could start breeding

I think you missed the point - I was referring to prey items in general.

No wonder you're sad, Brad. I hate feeding off the little guys, too... especially when they're at the apex of cuteness.

This is why I now breed only ASF rats for feeders. They can be sort of cute too but they're mean buggers, so I don't mind as much feeding them off. Rats are just too nice.

Cute pic! Rats make great pets, too...I was going to get a pair, but then I ended up with BPs and my place is too small to keep both. Oh well, one day....

Very cute pic Brad and a nice comment about rats. I enjoy our rat colony as much as the snakes and love that the male rats are so good with their offspring.
