    Herpstat Pro owners.....

Looking into the Herpstat PRO USB Bundle for $70 more...Just curious if you think it's worth it. I think the advantages are (and i'm not 100% sure) that it constantly monitors and uploads temp data to the web so it's accessible from anywhere...so I can log in from my work computer and make sure my temps are still good.

Next there's the text messaging thing...It's useless for me because it only works with Verison Wireless...sending you text messages if there's a fluctuation in temps for some reason....IMO, that's a fantastic feature..too bad i have Cingular

There's a few other features included, including the software.

I just want your thoughts on the Herpstat Pro. 4 outputs is great and the price is fantastic as well.

Why only Verizon wireless? Don't most cell companies allow text messages to be sent via email to your cell phone?

I'm not familiar with the Pro model, I just got a Herpstat ND and it's an excellent thermostat, especially compared to the ZooMeds I've been using prior to this.

I've only got one rack so a PRO would be a bit of overkill at this time.

I've got a Herpstat ND as well...I am very satisfied with it!

This is from the Herpstat PRO manual:

Features also include emergency e-mail and Vtext messages to Verison Wireless phones

Well i forgot the part that says "emergency e-mail"...but I would much rather have a text message because i'm not always in front of my computer to receive e-mails.

Well, like I said, the email might work if you can email to your cell phone. Even my cheap Virgin Mobile prepaid will do that.

    Re: Herpstat Pro owners.....

well nate do you need to know the temp in your snake racks at any given point in a day? if you do then the feature is worth it to you and you should get it. herpstats are very reliable and usually keep temps constant(in my experience). unless your not checking your racks at least once a day then it may be worth it to have the ability to monitor the temps from any location with a computer.

then you need to hire someone to fix any problems while your away...

I plan to buy the HSP in the future and won't buy the USB bundle. It is $70 wasted IMO because I have trust in Spyder Robotics and their product.
    lots of snakes
