What size feeder would you use for this guy?

Right now he has eaten three weeks in a row for me and I have given him one small f/t arctic mouse. Since there were several I had to throw away in our getting to know each other stage, I am already out. Try to decide if I should by another box of the same size or move up.

I would personally feed that sized snake rat pups. Weaner rats would probably be a little large IMO.

This guy gets rat rups every week.

    Hope this helps

Whether your snake feeds on rats or mice it doesn't matter. Whatever works for you; that said as your snake gets older its going to be easier to feed one appropriately sized rat as opposed to feeding multiple mice. If you were going to continue feeding mice I would look for something more along the lines of one size above what you pointed out in the link or this sized rat.

Thanks! I know bp's are picky eaters, what is the success rate of switching from mice to rats?

Its easier to switch a hatchling over and gets progressively more difficult as the snake gets older. Some will eat both and some show preference to one or the other. More often than not with a little patience a snake can be switched over. Scenting a rat with a mouse by rubbing the rat with the mouse is one of the tips to getting a stubborn snake to switch over.

Hmmm things to ponder! Ok thanks. I am just glad for now he is eating and I guess I will worry about what later. Since he still pretty young he might switch over. I think it would be easier to do one larger prey item. Where do you get your feeders from?
