    Bluefields

So maybe not as cool as some of the birthings going on lately, but I figured I should finally post some pics of my bluefields for real.
The male, who's quite a bit larger, but also rather calmer.

Seems to be a common theme with these for some reason.
A lot of people have been seeing the males grow faster and larger than the females (myself included).
Especially if the male is from the D group.
Those seem to be growing the fastest and largest.

    Great animals.
Once you have a pair, you know you're gonna want a trio.

    He's beautiful! ^_^

So how big do the bluefields get? The only pictures I have seen are smaller ones (smaller than some of the other redtail boas I have seen) Are they all just pictures of young ones or do they not get as big?

    Re: Bluefields

Ron Tremper, who imported them is saying that they will max out around 5-6 feet for a female, and smaller for males, but it remains to be seen how this generation will grow up. Steve (SPJ) has measurements on his, and at 2 years old I think he said they were around 30 inches, honestly I have not measured mine, so if he looks at this topic again, he'll give better info.

    Re: Bluefields

Tough to get the exact length on these. Very active.
The male is between 29 and 30 inches and weighs 181 grams.
The female is bewteen 23 and 24 inches and weighs 158 grams.
