Rack is here! Now on to the questions.

I just recieved my boaphile Side-ways 5 drawer blanket rack. I have just a few questions regarding set up.

There is a hole at the bottom of the rack for the electrical plug; can I attach my prob to the heat tape at the bottom level and still get constant temps throughout the rack? Or should I drill a whole near the middle tub and attach to the flexwatt there?

Next question. Heat tape is going long ways across the back bottom of the tub, does this now mean that my temp gradient is going from back to front as opposed to left to right? Should I have one hide over the heat tape and one hide not over the tape.

Last question, there are no pins or anything to stop the tubs from being opened. Should I be worried about my snakes being able to get out? Is there something I can do about this?

I think thats about it for now. Thanks in advance!

I would put the probe around the middle shelf...Just run the cord for the probe on the inside of the self...

    That's how I does it...lol

Hide in the front and back will work...

I've been using Boaphile Racks for years and I've never had one open the box...

Rich, try them with out hides. I dont use hides in racks unless I have a fussy feeding baby. the whole rack acts like a hide. A nice dark and quite place for your Ball Python.

I've thought about it but I fiugure a home away from home can't hurt. I'm sure if my collection keeps growing I'll end up thinking differently about it, but for now they get hides.

I offer hides to everyone - even the rack kids use them. The boaphiles look like they let in a lot more light than other racks, but maybe they don't?

Jon what is the rack on the left side of the pic? I recognize the ones on the right as I've been wanting some Boaphiles for awhile now but I'm not sure what the one on the left of your picture is.
