Question New snake, but is he shedding?

So just this past weekend I got my first snake. He's a 100% het pied (Maximus Decimus Merdius ), pretty darn good size [3'] from Ron Billingsley. First night in his cage he has a perfect shed!

I also have to admit, while i was at the show, someone pulled me aside and told me that this guy was walkin around with a pastel, and that i absolutely had to see it. I saw the snake, and i couldnt say no, especially for the price he was offering. It's gorgeous, and my camera phone doesnt do it justice.

Anyways, back to the topic, the pastel (the Reverand) is showing signs just like Max before he shed (rubbing nose on dish, substrate, wall, himself, yawning), except neither I or my boyfriend can see any bluish skin over his eyes, except a little flaky skin on the tip of his nose. and i mean its not really noticeable at all. Will he shed soon? Should I bump the humidity up?

Extra humidity won't hurt, but I'd keep an eye on the yawning. Shedding snakes usually stay pretty mellow and in their hides until they're finished, so it sounds like your snake is just getting used to it's new environment.

A lot of yawning and mouth opening can be a sign of an upper respiratory infection. Other signs include extra mucous and/or wheezing.

He may have already shed. If not he will turn a milky grey color and his eyes will cloud over for a few days. Next he will go back to totaly normal looking and within seven days shed. Keep his humidity above 60% be sure to use a digital thermometer / hygrometer and keep records. Hope this helps

And now, for about the past hour, he's just been chillin in the back of the tub... i'm all kinds of confused over him. he spent all day yesterday, and night [i think] in his hide. and just a few hours ago came out to look around and start with the fussing and stuff like before.

He sound fine . Just keep an eye on him. He's in a new home. Ball pythons are nocturnal and will be most active at night. I can set my watch by my pythons. Relax and don't stress your self out.
