    Going to Mexico

I'm going to Mexico for a week at the end of April. My g/f bought me a week stay at a 4 star resort with plane tix to Riviera Maya. I'll be checking out the Mayan ruins and pyramids, drinking a lot of Ticate and Tequila, snorkling, deep sea fishing, surf fishing, probably hit some flats for some permit/snook/tarpin fishing, drinking a lot of Ticate and Tequila, taking jungle tours and probably do some fishing and drinking.
The resort is right on an amazing white sand beach, has 8 pools including 5 outdoor infinity pools, and supposedly some really good restaurants. I've never been to mexico before, and if I'm not on here posting by May 8th, that probably means I didn't return and I'm living in the jungle with my fishing poles and tequila I'm hoping to take some awesome pictures with my new digital camera. I'll be picking up a few more 2 gig SD cards for it before I leave. Just thought I'd brag a bit.
What are these mojavas I keep hearing so much about?

ahhh you are going to have so much fun.

one time when i was in mexico my family and I went deep sea fishing. the first catch was a barracuda. then we reeled in a 227 pound marlin!

it took my dad (and the captain) 2 and a half hours to get that thing on the boat.

    good luck and have fun!

    Re: Going to Mexico

I was just there for Christmas, stayed at the same hotel. If you've never been there, it is the best ever, treated like a king. I will suggest Jel- Xa this place awsome. It has Iguanas running all over the place. You can book at the Hotel. Have fun! P.S. I'm going next Christmas also.

    Re: Going to Mexico

MEXICO is great. If you've never been eat real Mexican food not taco bell, drink a real margarita with real tequila not Jose' Quirvo, learn 6 words in Spanish other than Se or uno and does, And see the real Mexico or as the locals call it "Old Mexico" if you can not Cancun or some other resort town.
Mexico is a great country with loads of flavor and history you will not be disappointed.

    Re: Going to Mexico

I'm staying at the Grand Mayan Resort. I don't even know six Spanish words now, but I eat "real" Mexican food and tequila all the time. I plan I trying everything I have the opportunity to try. I plan on spending at least a day wondering around outside the resort towns, and I'm hoping to get in at least one machette fight while I'm there. I just read too, that the beach there is awesome, but it's right on a reef so nobody swims there because it's too rocky. They complain, but I'll be out there daily with my shoes, tattoos, Speedo, fishing pole and beer helmet They have happy hour daily from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm with 2 for 1 drinks. That's a litlle late so I'll have to pre-game I guess. I can't wait.

    Re: Going to Mexico

You can use other beaches. We stayed at the Riveria Palace. The water is a sweet blue, because your on the Carribean side. I know you will love it.

    Re: Going to Mexico

Yeah, I know, but I'm not worried about swimming at the beach. They have a ton of awesome pools, and if I need to I can walk down the beach for a few minutes to a good place to swim. I'm all about the fishing.
