Re: Set up questions and how active...
What was he in before? The new set up has a lot of wasted space in height, which they really don't need. I also don't see that you have a temp gradient set up - I see one hide, and don't know if it's on the warm or cool side.
The new enclosure is also very open, and the hide doesn't look like it provides a "snug" feel for him, which may be why he's out and about more.

What do you mean by tempature Gradient? I'm a bit clueless still sorry. I have 2 heat lamps for day and night and a UTH thats halfway in and out his hide so he can get away from it and still bein the hide.. There is also a digital tempature thing suction cupped inside the tank so I can see how warm it is in there. It also tells me the humidity level. You think I should have a smaller hide? I got that with him and was told he was used to it and stays in it alot but I will get a smaller one if its too big. I know there is wasted space, as I said I am going to add a plant and some large drift wood pieces to fill it up. He was in a 30 long before with the same exact things. So maybe not as high but was longer. I got this nice set up for free actually and it already had a stand and is just much easier to deal with. The top is closed except for the chicken wire where the heat lights go to keep more of the heat in and I am planning on doing some tin foil lining on the underside of the wood.
Please don't hesitate to "tell me" hahaha. I am open minded and appreciate advice and am here to learn. When I woke up this morning he wasn't in his hide and I didn't see him. There is a ledge that goes around the top of the cage and he was perched and had his body around the entire ledge just chillin sleeping up there. Is that ok?

Re: Set up questions and how active...
By "temperature gradient", it means having a cool side and a warm side to an enclosure. Reptiles are cold blooded and they need to be able to regulate their own temperature.
By providing a "cool" side of 80-84 degrees and a "warm" side of 90-94 degrees (with an identical hide on each side), your BP would be able to thermoregulate (regulate his body temperature) by moving between hides to keep his internal temps "right".
I hope that makes sense? With BP's length/width of enclosures are WAY more important than the height of the enclosures--and the height might be freaking him out, in addition to not really having the gradient to thermoregulate.

Re: Set up questions and how active...
Ok well Basically the heat source is only on one side of the tank in the back . The actual tank is about 33X33X33 A perfect square. Shall I get 2 smaller hides and keep one with the UTH and one on the other side without? I think thats what you mean?
*edit* Thanks btw for helping : ) I appreciate it. I was told that BPs like a smaller width and taller height so they can climb when they want. *sigh* I didn't have 2 hides in the old tank either. There was no room for it regardless so at least in this one I can do that.
